A little to good.

First off let me apologize for not posting in a long time.  It’s a little crazy right now and I have not been having a lot of time.  Buckman is still trying for the State Championship so he is also a little preoccupied.

Even with all of this going on we did make it out to the pond last Saturday to check the water levels and all I can say is…    Oops

I think we did a little to good of a job busting the dam.  The pond is bone dry.  I walked out in the deepest part of the pond and all that was there was cracked dry dirt.  We decided to go to the back pond and bust the dam on it to use that water to flood the front pond and well you guessed it.  Dry as well.  We did however see a little mud in that pond.

On a positive note, some of the rice did come up.  Just not very much of it.

At this time all we have is the fish pond to hunt.  I killed a good many ducks out of it about 10 years ago but a lot has changed since then.  But with the fact that the swamps are dry and it is too dry for a lot of the impoundments around, this may be a decent year after all.

But in the end it doesn't really matter because ducks or no ducks we are still going to have a good time at least pretending to hunt ducks some where.
